In short, YES absolutely your website needs to be mobile optimized!
We live in a time where digital content is primarily being accessed via mobile devices. Digitally optimizing your site may be an extra hassle, but it’s worth it when you think about all of the traffic you’ll miss if people can’t view your site from their phone. It’s frustrating when you’re on your phone and need access to a business’s website and can’t get things to display correctly, or can’t find what you need.
Don’t Forget About Social Media
Now let’s talk about social media. People primarily utilize Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook from their mobile devices! Linkedin is about half and half. It wouldn’t make a ton of sense to share links to your website, store, blog posts, and products if it doesn’t function properly from phones and tablets.
How do we Fix the Problem?
Luckily for you, most modern website platforms such as Squarespace, shopify, and WordPress templates are always mobile optimized by being responsive. Responsive designs just mean it automatically adjusts the layout by collapsing columns and resizing elements depending on the aspect ratio the user is viewing it from. You really only have to worry about your website being optimized if you have an older web platform or template. You should always test the experience yourself though from you mobile device to make sure it’s behaving in the way you want it to.
It’s a pretty simple fix to make sure that your site is mobile compatible, and it will be one less thing to get in the way of you and your audience!
